Celebrating 12 years of the By Jodie team
Harrods Beauty Hall is ACE for makeup shopping. Every brand going, well trained counter staff and plenty of places to stop for a refreshing break in the Food Hall. My only suggestion is that you make it a week day as I’m sure Saturday isn’t as serene as a Wednesday morning.
I was there a couple of weeks ago and had a mini kit/personal makeup bag splurge. Here’s what I bought:
1. Chanel Soleil Identité Face Tanner (pictured above)
It’s the best out there in my opinion and buying a replacement had been on my wish list for a while. It comes in two shades (I went for the lighter of the two) and it gives you a very natural warmth and sun kissed look that sits well with my freckles.
Available here for £30
2. Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel
Keeping on the tanning (+ Chanel) flex I do love the magical Bronze Universal. It’s creamy texture and great tawny shade is fab for either using by itself if you’re loving your skin or buffing into your foundation in a vague contour-y way to give you some tan glow and definition. You get a very generous amount and I tend to apply using a large dense blusher brush.
Available here for £32
3. Suqqu Eyebrow Pens
Meant for my kit but ending up in my personal makeup bag these waterproof pens are brilliant at creating natural brows. The shades are genius, a grey/green for blondes (so absolutely no red tones which I dislike in a brow) and a really neutral medium brown. The brush is very fine so you can draw in individual hairs, plus once they’re on they don’t budge.
Available here for £20
4. Laura Mercier Caviar stick eye colour I hadn’t had these in my kit for a while and I couldn’t resist the mini pack of 4 on the Laura Mercier counter. They are cream eyeshadows, impressively long wear, I mean they literally don’t budge and an awesome selection of pretty, wearable shades and such a quick way of doing a smokey eye. Amethyst is a fave – particularly lovely with green eyes.
Available individually here for £22
