Shan & Glyn’s Queensland Wedding – A Sneak Peak

Before I officially became a freelance makeup artist I worked for a couple of years on fancy yachts for very rich people. On the first boat I joined I met Shannon and we became instant friends with a shared love of raucous times, food, hysterical laughing and travel. Shan and her now husband Glyn got married last week on the Gold Coast, Australia and I flew over to attend and also do Shan’s bridal party makeup.

We didn’t get a chance to do a trial so we winged it on the day. Not normally an approach I’d take with a bride but I’d done Shan’s makeup numerous times before. She went for a lilac-y, taupe-y smokey eye to make her green eyes really shine.

Her wedding was in the hinterland inland from the Gold Coast. Picture hilly dense rain forest and streams and you’ll get the picture and a million miles away from the high rises and golden beaches of the coast. The ceremony was outside next to a pretty creek on a clearing in the forest.
